Brothers Justin and Cory Williams have announced the formation of urban team Austin Aviators, which made its official debut at the Redlands Cycling Classic last weekend.
This is the third team under Williams Racing Development, joining the successful Los Angeles L39ion and Miami Trail Blazers.
Austin has become the cycling hub of Texas, with a prominent cycling community and now a professional fleet. The team will ride Vitus bikes to the biggest criterium events in the country, including the Tulsa Tough and Elite Nationals.
Vitus’ Global Marketing Manager, Alex James, expressed his excitement for the new partnership, saying: “We are delighted to begin our partnership with the Austin Pilot. As a global cycling brand, we did not want to abandon our traditional UCI career Tour routes and the fast-paced action that comes with loving US Pro Crit racing. For us, it’s not about race wins or podiums, it’s about the people who make up the teams and the cities they represent.”
