The Cornedon Circus team, where Mathieu van der Poel is located, officially announced earlier this month that the team name will be changed to Alpecin Fenix, and signed mountain biker Sam Gaze, who was lifted from the contract last month.
Canyon bikes still provide the team with multi-field racing equipment, including road bikes, mountain bikes, and off-road roads. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and Mathieu van der Poel have already won for the new team in a recent CX race. From the photos of that game, we can see that the new uniform is dominated by the navy blue tone instead of the previous white and orange.
In the new season, the team will still focus on CX and XC, but the team confirms that van der Poel’s main goal in 2020 is the Tokyo Olympics.
